The Stray Dog Booksellers Online Shop

Many will know Gillian from her beautiful Port Melbourne shop, The Stray Dog Booksellers – a much loved destination for the book-lovers of Melbourne and beyond. With its leadlight windows, rolling ladders reaching to the ceiling, communal table, old 1940’s leather couch and fabulous selection of collectible books, many felt they had entered an era long since gone.

We also bragged that we made the best coffee on Bay Street and, in support of this claim, we were listed in The Age Top 5 Bookshop/Cafes.

The shop now operates principally as an online bookshop, although you will see us popping up at the occasional book fair.

We pride ourselves on the quality of the books we sell and the outstanding customer service we provide. We believe that our prompt and courteous service, and the effort we invest in sourcing that rare or special book for our customers, sets us apart from ‘the madding crowd’.

Welcome to The Stray Dog!
