Postage Overview

For Australia – items will be posted by air mail.
For New Zealand – items will be posted by air mail.
For UK, Canada and USA – items will be posted by air mail.

Freight to other international destinations, and reduced freight costs for seamail, can be negotiated on request.

On rare occasions freight cost may need to be increased to cover particularly heavy books or sets of books. You will be notified of this before the book is sent if this is the case.

To ensure safe arrival at destination customers may be contacted regarding additional insurance costs for more valuable items such as Antiquarian, Rare & Collectible books.

Books will be dispatched within 5 working days of us confirming your order. However, if urgent e.g. a birthday gift, then please alert us, and we will endeavour to prioritise your order. We are also happy to post gifts directly to the recipient and send the tax invoice to you, the purchaser. At festive times, when demand is high, please place your orders early. However, rest assured that at such times, we work around the clock to satisfy our customers' needs. For a small extra charge, books can be gift-wrapped [with price removed] and a gift card from you included. Most books with dustjackets have been covered with a protective sleeve.

Book price does not include postage. Postage will be charged at Australia Post rates for both domestic and international customers. Books will be sent by air mail unless we are otherwise instructed by the buyer. Delivery time for standard post within Australia is usually less than a week. Airmail to NZ, UK, Canada & USA should normally arrive within a couple of weeks. Other international destinations may take longer. If express post is requested by the buyer, then the buyer will be required to pay the additional postage costs. Customers should be aware that international seamail can take 60 to 90 days to reach its destination. Customers can be confident that The Stray Dog will dispatch within 5 working days of order confirmation.

It is Stray Dog policy that Antiquarian, Rare & Collectible books be sent by Registered Mail. If additional registration costs are incurred for more valuable books, then these costs must be met by the purchaser. When insurance is considered necessary by us, or is required by the customer, this cost must be met by the buyer. Please note that some countries do not offer the option of insuring parcels.
