$150.00

Scarce and Collectible book. This is the TRUE FIRST EDITION which was published before the Lippincott edition. It includes the Folding Coloured Map at rear, often absent from other copies, plus 39 other illustrations. No previous owner inscriptions. Binding is tight and strong but book is heavily foxed. Frontis b&w photo, The Chief of Santa Cruz, is tissue-guard protected. The author held the position of Queensland Government Agent in the South Seas from 1884, after the murder of the previous agent & the book records his adventures/experiences.
