Gilt title to spine & gilt dates of journals. The red binding is very good, clean, tight and bright with no owner inscription to the endpapers or title. There is however an owner inscription on one of the later journals and a note on another journal indicating that it has been bound into the volume upside down, one of the few flaws in this very impressive collection of original Australian Gemmologist journals. Couple of very minor marks on front board. These 27 journals are a fascinating, informative and comprehensive analysis of gemmology and in particular Australian gemmology, circa late 1950s. Some pages remain uncut. The colourful front page to each journal is quite wonderful and there are many coloured plates, images of stones & jewels, and unique adverts that capture the era. This rare item is a true collector's piece.
