Description 1956, Readers Book Club edition. The story of a young woman who arrives in Australia in 1792 on a convict ship and rises to become triumphant in a world of men. It is based on the true story of Mary Reiby who rose to become a prominent business woman in colonial Australia. Binding clean, tight and bright, very good to near fine, with a small owner on the front board which is covered by the dust jacket, with only the date 1957 showing. No other owner inscriptions. Terracotta cloth boards are very good with blue tinting to top edge. Unclipped dust jacket is good to very good with chipping at the top of the spine, small closed tear at top edge and tiny loss at corners. Jacket is now protected by a clear, mylar sleeve.
