Commissioned by the Cornhill Magazine, this Volume 2 contains Chapters 19 to 36 from the first edition in serial form, of Anthony Trollope's "The Framley Parsonage". Also includes stories & poems by Thackeray, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Charlotte Bronte & Matthew Arnold. In addition, it contains 4 chapters on William Hogarth, painter, engraver & philosopher. Also includes 12 engravings, with tissue protectors, of The King [George 4th], The Prince, The Regent, The Prince & Princess of Wales, Sir Joshua Reynolds, Dr Goldsmith & The God Pan. 760 pp. Three quarter binding, which has gold gilt titles & raised bands, is strong, tight & sound. Internally clean with no inscriptions, a little scattered foxing and few marks, with some toning & tanning. Wear at corners & a little on spine. Very good copy of a collectible book. 760 pp + endpapers and title.
