In 1831, Charles Darwin, aged 22 was offered the post of naturalist on board H.M.S Beagle. The voyage lasted 5 years during which time the Beagle visited Brazil, Argentina, Tierra del Fuego, Chile, Peru, the Galapagos, Tahiti, New Zealand, Australia and various other countries. For Darwin this was the beginning of a whole new conception of the origin and evolution of the species. Many fabulous glossy full page coloured illustrations and many other B & W illustrations. 280 pp. Jacket now protected by clear mylar sleeve.
