Scarce and Highly Collectible Book. 1834. The 1834 editions are the second edition of this book. Original spine with lovely bright gold gilt tooling, lettering and decorative work & raised bands, has had a little professional restoration. Fold-out map illustrating the voyages has toning & foxing & minor splits but is still good, & soundly bound into binding. Inscription from original owner is written in French in copper-plate hand-writing on front endpaper. Text of book is in English. Wear to boards at corners & ink stain to front leaf edge. Some partial scattered marks/foxing. Note on back endpaper dated 1945. Binders: R. Clay, Bread-Street-Hill.
