FIRST ENGLISH EDITION. RARE & COLLECTIBLE. PUBLISHED 1797. Printed for A. Strahan, and T. Cadell Jun. and W. Davies [successors to Mr. Cadell] in The Strand. Set of 5 volumes [vol. 6 missing] in full tan polished morocco with marbled endpapers which are all very good, tight & bright. Decorative tooling and gold gilt titles to spine. Edges of binding show touch of wear but minimal considering age of the books. Hinges of all volumes are strong and solid. No inscriptions to any of the volumes. Green tinting to all edges. There has been some water damage to some of the volumes in varying degrees. Volumes 2 is clean, tight and very good; volumes 4 & 5 have very minimal water mark at rear page edges only which is barely noticeable; volumes 1 & 3 have more considerable old watermarks to page edges which does not in any way effect readability of text or soundness of the book.
