The Silmarillion

1977. True First Export Edition, with no price on the front flap, which preceded the domestic edition. This true first was printed in Great Britain on 11 on 12 Imprint type by William Clowes & Son Ltd, London, Beccles and Colchester, whereas the domestic edition was published by Billing & Son. It contains the printing errors of No Full Stop following Feanor on page 330 line 4, and the italized "and" on page 352 line 39 between Lord of Waters and King of the Sea. The Map of Beleriand and the Lands to the North tipped-in at the rear of the book is bright and clean and in excellent condition. The dust jacket is very good and now protected by a clear mylar sleeve. The book is priced at an accessible price owing to a watermark at the top edge and front edges of the book pages. Please see photo below. Whilst it is quite apparent externally, this has not affected the contents of the book which are clean and show only a little foxing on endpapers & a touch at page edges. A great opportunity to buy a true first of this classic book at a very reasonable price. 365 pps
